Sugu, identiteeti ja erinevusi uuriv liikumise õpituba igale kehale

“If it walks like a duck, maybe it isn’t”

Cid Pearlman loob koreograafiat inimeste argielust. Teda huvitab, kuidas inimesed erinevates situatsioonides omavahel klapivad.

Moving workshop “If it walks like a duck, maybe it isn’t”

A movement workshop for everybody, exploring gender, identity, and difference Cid Pearlman (USA) makes dances about real people, and is intensely interested in
how we negotiate being together in a complex world. In this workshop participants will explore the culturally constructed nature of gender through movement and
discussion. We will investigate the body’s capacity for meaning making, ambiguity, intelligence, and irreverence. Working in a supportive environment we will explore
making and performing dances in the moment, creating movement that comes from your body and our bodies together. Pearlman is a black belt in Aikido and we will
weave principals and practices from this 20th century Japanese martial art through the workshops, as vehicle for physical and emotional empowerment.

Working language is english and all non-professional dancers are welcomed, no previous dancing experience necessary!

Lecture and Reception “The Performing Body/Gender, Identity and Difference”

For nearly a decade choreographer Cid Pearlman (USA) has examined the ways that gender operates and is performed in her work as a model for theorizing and choreographing other more complex, and possibly more democratic, ways to be in the world. For LadyFest Tallinn, Pearlman will facilitate a lively lecture and discussion about the complicated nature of gender and its representation in 20th and 21st century performance, with a focus on dance, performance art, and conceptual art.

Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava (Telliskivi 60a)
10 April @ 7.30 pm – 10 pm
Open for everyone!
